Traversing the subterranean world of Hallownest requires mastering various movement abilities to reach hidden areas and progress through the story. Among these essential upgrades is the Crystal Heart, a pivotal item that unlocks the Super Dash ability for horizontal flight across massive gaps. Understanding where to find this energy core and how to navigate the hazards surrounding it makes exploration significantly smoother.

Where to Find the Crystal Heart

The Crystal Heart is situated deep within the central-eastern section of Crystal Peak. Players can locate it embedded inside an ancient, inactive mining golem sitting at the end of a challenging platforming sequence. Reaching this specific chamber requires careful navigation past conveyor belts, laser obstacles, and aggressive crystal-themed foes.

Prerequisites and Required Equipment

Before attempting to acquire the Crystal Heart, players must secure certain foundational movement abilities. Having the Mantis Claw is strictly mandatory to wall-jump through the vertical shafts of the region. Additionally, purchasing the Lumafly Lantern from Sly in Dirtmouth is highly recommended to safely navigate the unlit caverns leading into Crystal Peak.

Navigating the Obstacles in Crystal Peak

Entering Crystal Peak can be accomplished either through Forgotten Crossroads using the Lumafly Lantern or from the Resting Grounds. Once inside, adventurers must climb through the central shafts and make their way toward the eastern edge of the map. Defeating or bypassing the Crystal Guardian boss clears a path toward the upper platforming rooms that lead directly to the golem.

How the Super Dash Ability Works

Upon inspecting the old mining golem, the Knight absorbs the Crystal Heart and permanently unlocks the Super Dash skill. Holding down the dash button charges the ability for roughly less than a second before propelling the Knight forward through the air at high speed. This flight continues indefinitely in a straight line until cancelled by jumping, tapping the dash button again, or taking damage from an environmental hazard.
